Sources revealed that the \u201cSpotlight\u201d actor suffered a severe headache<\/a> on Sunday, November 16, prompting him to contact his doctor.<\/strong> Following medical advice, Schreiber went to a hospital in New York City and remained overnight while undergoing tests<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exact cause of his symptoms remained unclear<\/strong>, as doctors were initially uncertain about the nature of the issue. Despite the scare, Schreiber was alert<\/strong>, able to speak and walk without difficulty, and had full use of his limbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, the actor\u2019s representative has provided reassurance<\/strong>. He stated<\/a>, \u201cOut of an abundance of caution, Liev went into the hospital for testing and as of this afternoon, he has been cleared to return to work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the incident, he initially thought the pain was minor<\/strong>, but his concern grew when he could not recall the name of his co-star, Amy Ryan, backstage. The situation worsened once he went onstage, as he completely forgot his lines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt all vanishes. The play is gone from my head \u2026 I know I\u2019m in a play but I don\u2019t know what play I\u2019m in,\u201d he explained<\/a>. During the episode, Schreiber was joined by his doctor,<\/strong> who is also a friend, and his wife<\/strong>. Both arrived visibly alarmed, which heightened his fear that he might be experiencing a stroke.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Rare Diagnosis with No Long-Term Effects<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Medical evaluation, including an MRI, showed no brain bleed<\/strong> and confirmed that his brain was healthy<\/a>. A neurologist later diagnosed him with transient global amnesia (TGA).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Cleveland Clinic, TGA is a rare medical condition<\/a> in which individuals experience sudden episodes of memory loss and confusion<\/strong>. Known triggers include migraines, physical exertion, sexual activity, emotional or psychological stress, and sudden exposure to very cold or hot water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The condition is most often seen in middle-aged or older adults<\/strong>. It has no long-term effects and typically resolves on its own within 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The neurologist told Schreiber that the episode would resolve within 8 to 24 hours<\/strong> and was unlikely to happen again. \u201cI didn\u2019t believe. You know, as a typical sort of Jewish hypochondriac person, I\u2019m convinced that I had a stroke and they just didn\u2019t find it,\u201d he noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, the prediction proved accurate, as after sleeping, his memory returned, and he was able to recall the entire play. \u201cI never had another problem with it. I was embarrassed and thought everyone would think I was lying and taking a night off from the theater,\u201d he shared<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
