A former DEA agent relocates his family to a peaceful town and soon finds himself in conflict with a local methamphetamine kingpin.
Phil Broker, once a DEA agent, faces turmoil after a failed operation against a motorcycle gang leads to the death of the gang leader’s son. Recently widowed, he now takes care of his 9-year-old daughter, Maddy. To provide her a stable life, he decides to leave the chaos of his previous job and retire in a small town. When Maddy stands up to a bully at school, it triggers a series of events that bring him face-to-face with the area’s meth lord. Additionally, his troubled past with the biker gang complicates the situation further. Despite these challenges, he is determined to protect his daughter at all costs. Two years after a gang’s meth lab raid exposed his identity, former DEA agent and war veteran Phil Broker (Jason Statham) relocates with his daughter Maddy (Izabela Vidovic) to a small town in Louisiana, where Maddy’s late mother grew up.
At school, Maddy gets into a fight with a bully named Teddy Klum. When Broker arrives at the school, Teddy’s aggressive father, Jimmy (Marcus Hester), confronts him and ends up losing the fight. Later, Cassie Klum (Kate Bosworth) asks her brother Gator Bodine (James Franco), a drug dealer, to intimidate Broker. Broker defends himself against Gator’s thugs at a gas station when they threaten him. While he and Maddy are horse riding, Gator breaks into their home. He discovers from old files that Broker was the undercover cop who arrested Danny T (Chuck Zito) during the raid two years prior. Seeking to expand his drug operation, Gator informs Danny T, who then sends gang members to kill Broker.
