The journalist has her own agenda. She reveals to him that she’s the daughter of Sam Jasper, Susan Jasper’s true killer, who murdered out of jealousy. Katie took her mom’s maiden name. She can’t stand the thought of being associated with such a notorious murderer. She claims Mary Shaw’s death was accidental, caused by her rage when Mary failed to provide a semen sample from Veil to pin the rape on him. Katie ends up killing Seger while filming the whole thing.

Katie tries to seduce Sean to get that semen sample but he doesn’t respond. A struggle ensues which we witness through the recordings. It fades to black and we see Sean alone, crying desperately while holding Seger’s gun the same one used to kill Susan Jasper and her kids. The police show up. Sean plays a video from a computer webcam showing Katie killing Seger, attempting to get his semen, and then taking her own life. Mountjoy questions Sean about what would happen to his alibi if the digital recording mysteriously got lost, hinting that it might go missing on purpose. Sean responds that he just emailed a copy of the recording to a journalist, so there’s no chance he can be set up.
