The mother was crying loudly and begging to be buried next to her daughter — but then she leaned in closer, noticed something, and screamed in horror

There was a heavy silence at the funeral. The white hall was filled with relatives, friends, and loved ones who had come to say goodbye to the young woman. She had passed away suddenly, after a few days of high fever and general malaise. Doctors said it was a rare brain inflammation that caused her heart to stop. Resuscitation was unsuccessful.

In the coffin, the girl looked as if she were simply sleeping: her face calm, her hands folded on her chest. Her mother stood over her, unable to hold back her tears. Her despair erupted in a scream that pierced the room and broke the hearts of everyone present.

— Take me with her! — the woman sobbed. — I can’t live without her! Bury me next to her! I don’t want to breathe this air without my girl!

The father embraced her, trembling with tears. Relatives approached one by one, comforting her, wiping their eyes. The grief was so intense it seemed reality itself might shatter beneath its weight.

And then…

She gasped softly:

— Wait… her chest… she’s… BREATHING!

Panic swept through the hall. Some thought it was just imagination — a result of exhaustion, grief, or a nervous breakdown. But then others began to notice the slight, barely visible movement. The girl’s chest was rising and falling.

— She’s alive! — someone shouted. — Oh God, she’s alive!

While some stood in shock, others were already calling an ambulance. The medics were nearly knocked over when they arrived. Check — there was a pulse. Blood pressure low but stable. The girl was immediately taken to the ICU.

A day later, the diagnosis came: lethargic sleep. A rare condition in which a person appears dead, but vital functions continue in a deeply slowed-down state.

Essentially — it’s a condition of deep sleep, similar to a coma, but with a chance of awakening.

It was later discovered that the examining doctor had made a mistake — he hadn’t detected the weak pulse. Her body temperature had dropped to nearly room temperature, and her breathing was barely noticeable.

She was officially declared dead, the death certificate was signed, and preparations for burial began.

If it hadn’t been for the mother’s desperate cry, if it hadn’t been for that final glance… the girl would have been buried alive.

Now she is in the hospital, in stable condition, and getting better with each passing day. Her mother hasn’t left her side and keeps repeating one thing:

— It was a miracle. And I felt it… in my heart.
