Construction company owner John Matthews discovers his estranged son, Jason, has been arrested for drug trafficking. Jason faces a harsh prison sentence due to mandatory minimum laws and has no way to negotiate for leniency. In desperation, John persuades the DEA and DA Joanne Keeghan to allow him to go undercover in exchange for helping his son. With assistance from an ex-con employee, John dives into the dangerous world of narcotics, where he must use all his skills to survive.

Eighteen-year-old Jason Collins is arrested for drug distribution after being caught with Ecstasy and faces a mandatory ten-year prison sentence. John’s determination to prove his son’s innocence drives him to go undercover to gather evidence against real criminals when Jason refuses to set someone up. With help from ex-con Daniel, John pursues Malik, a ruthless drug dealer leading a gang. However, John’s actions may put Daniel’s family at risk. Eventually, the investigation leads John to cartel leader Juan Carlos “El Topo” Pintera, and he resolves not to let others control his fate. After accepting a late-night delivery of ecstasy pills, 18-year-old Jason Matthews, son of a law-abiding construction owner, ends up in federal prison facing a ten-year sentence. To help his son, John Matthews makes a risky deal with U.S. Attorney Joanne Keeghan, who wants to take down local drug dealer Malik and pursue bigger targets like the notorious cartel leader Juan Carlos “El Topo” Pintera. Is John willing to risk everything for Jason’s freedom.

Jason reluctantly agrees to have ecstasy delivered for his friend Craig, who takes a plea deal that leads to Jason’s long sentence. John’s father, overwhelmed by his failing business, finds the ambitious Keeghan and strikes a deal: if he can deliver a major drug dealer, Jason will be released after serving some time. He coerces a former employee, Daniel James, to help him set a trap for Malik and ultimately the cartel leader. This leads to dangerous cat-and-mouse games with DEA agents and drug runners.
